Italy Guide: Cinque Terre
I have always dreamed of going to Cinque Terre. It was the one place in Italy that I dreamed of the blue skies, sun and spending time in the water. So when I planned a trip with J in the later half of October, I realized that my dream of sunny skies and swimming might have to wait until next time. I was worried as the weather said we'd get no sun and just pouring rain. Although it didn't rain the entire time, it was cloudy, but we were lucky to get rays of sunshine.
For those that don't know, Cinque Terre is a string of centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline. In each of the 5 towns: Riomaggiore, Manarola, Vernazza, Corneglia and Monterosso Al Mare, all with colorful houses and vineyards cling to steep terraces and have beautiful harbours filled with fishing boats.
My favourite place had to be Manarola. It's usually the most well loved and the most-photographed, but it also is one of the most beautiful and easy to navigate. Here's a few snapshots of Cinque Terre, and wandering the streets of the small towns. Vernazza was also incredibly beautiful. I highly recommend Cinque Terre to anyone that may interested in Italy.
