February Inspirations
We've been spending a lot of time working on this blog the past couple weeks and planning out our year ahead that January has flown by. It's amazing how the beginning of January starts off with goal setting, organization and well intentions. By the end of the month, you may feel like you need to set those intentions again, and set new reachable goals for yourself. Whether you set out to go to the gym five times a week and ended up watching your favourite shows on Netflix instead, or pledged to eat healthy and instead re-downloaded that food ordering app, February can be your new start.
There is nothing saying that you can't set new goals at the start of each month. Change the perspective on New Year, New You, and instead look to New Month, New Intention. Here are a few things that are inspiring us this February from Valentines to Home Decor. Try adding a bit of pink to your home throughout the month; it's a great way of adding a bit of Spring and colour to a pretty cold and dreary month. Book a dinner out with your friends, or stay in for a good movie night.
I love spring cleaning my wardrobe in February. As soon as the sun starts shining, I go straight for my closet and start weeding through things I haven’t worn in years, things I haven’t wanted to wear, things that no longer fit etc. Here is a great flow chart I love to use.
Another thing I love doing is incorporating more flowers into my space. I get very into dried florals in Fall and Winter, and so February is the first chance I get to buy blooms and I go big. Go out and get 3 bouquets and combine them to create something beautiful that you wouldn’t find normally. It’s amazing what $20 will get you, rather than spend upwards of $50 on flowers delivered. Also, this is as much as reminder for future me as it is for you.
Do not wait for someone else to buy you flowers. If it makes you happy go out and get them yourself. There is no shame in fulfilling your own wants. Buy the flowers.
What inspires you this February? Do you have any cool projects you'll be working on or DIY's you'd like to share?
Love, E
